Substitutes

I always have to use at least one substitute for whatever I am baking. Here are some helpful tips!

#1: Baking Powder: Makes 1/4 Cup

3 Tbsp. Baking soda
1 Tbsp. Corn starch

Mix and store in an air tight container. Toss after 3 weeks

#2: Baking soda: Makes however much you need

Baking soda is twice as strong than Powder. So now that you have Home-made baking powder, use twice as much baking powder as baking soda.

#3: Butter

Substitute Margarine, Ghee Butter, Coconut Oil

#4: Homemade Powdered Sugar

I always run out of powdered sugar when I bake. So to make powdered sugar use granulated sugar and process in food processor for 60 seconds on pulse.
Note: example: if you process 2 cups of granulated sugar it will make 2 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
